Aamir Khan is hopefully going to make an epic movie series that will be based on India's 'The Mahabharata.' According to Ramesh Bala, an industry insider, the series will be mega-expensive and will rival other movies like 'Game of Thrones' or even 'The Lord of the Rings.' Aamir Khan is likely to have massive ₹ 1000+ Crs Budget for the series.

Aamir Khan's 'The Mahabharata' will be epic

In his tweet, Bala said, "After #ThugsOfHindostan, @aamir_khan will start working on a movie series based on #Mahabharat#RIL 's #MukeshAmbani to co-produce.This will be mostly in the lines of #TheLordOftheRings , #GameofThrones in-terms of production value."

'The Mahabharata' has long been Aamir Khan's dream

Zeenews India quoted Aamir Khan as saying that his "dream is to make the 'Mahabharata,' but he was cautious as it would take him years to do it, as much as 15 to 20." He said while promoting "Secret Superstar," that his favourite character is "Karna, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to play him due to my physique."

Khan then suggested he might have to play the role of Krishna.

Then again, he also said, "I also liked the character of Arjun. He was the only person who asked Krishna why he had to kill his own people.”

That's not the only time that Aamir Khan spoke to the media about his dream to do 'The Mahabharata.' He certainly seemed almost overwhelmed by the scope of such a project when dnaindia.com reported another occasion when he spoke of that dream. He described it as a big "scary dream" that he had not yet moved towards.

Rumors of Fatima Sana Khan

There are some rumors floating around that Fatima Sana Khan might get to play a role in the epic series, 'The Mahabharata.' But as this has not been officially announced yet, it remains pure speculation.

Nevertheless, it seems that not everyone is buying into the prediction of Bala.

Some people think it's just fake news, as evidenced by this post.

Another user felt that even if 'The Mahabharata' did happen, that it was an exaggeration to compare Aamir Khan's production to 'The Lord of the Rings. They pointed out, "Good but Lord of the rings 1st part cost approx 550-600 cr.

in 2002.. U cant compare with it.."

Meanwhile, The International Business Times asked whether production of 'The Mahabharata' has perhaps already started? They wrote that "business tycoon Mukesh Ambani has agreed to co-produce the film." If the rumors are true then Aamir Khan's 'The Mahabharata' will be the biggest production of all time in Bollywood.
