The Shimla Police have registered an FIR of sexual molestation against Bollywood actor jitendra. A cousin of the actor has accused him of sexually assaulting him 47 years ago, and the case has been registered on this basis.

The complaint has been filed before the Director General of Police in February, in which the woman had alleged that the incident happened in January 1971 when she was only 18 and the actor who was 28 then has assaulted her in an inebriated state.

Jeetendra’s lawyer rubbished the allegations as “baseless and ridiculous.”

Jitendra to be called for recording statement

The SP of Shimla Ompati Jamwal has confirmed that an FIR has been registered and the matter is being investigated.

The police superintendent was informed that the case is in its initial stages of the investigation and the complainant and the defendant will be called, later for recording their statement.

The woman is said to be the cousin brother of Jitendra who is initially known by his name of Ravi Kapoor. The woman alleged that Jitendra had arranged for her to visit Shimla from Delhi on the pretext of showing her the shooting of a film. The lady testified that Jitendra had entered her room in an intoxicated state and tried to molest her. The actor of yesteryear has denied any such incident and termed the accusation as a ploy to get money.

The woman had sent an e-mail to the Himachal Pradesh Director General of Police SR Mardi in February and asked for an FIR to be registered.

It is now confirmed that the FIR has been launched under various sections of 354 IPC. If convicted, the actor can be sentenced to a maximum of two years rigorous imprisonment.

If it is proved that Jeetendra indeed assaulted the girl, the maximum punishment under the section is a two-year jail term.
