The Telugu movie “MLA” starring Kalyan Ram, Kajal Aggarwal, and Brahmandam was released in India and across the world on March 23, 2018. The movie directed by Upendra Madhav received a below average rating from the critics due to the predictable course of its storyline. However, moviegoers who were looking for pure entertainment seemed to have a good time in the theatres.

Ram has tried his best to succeed as a typical hero, and the result is satisfying. The same can be said about Kajal who carries out her role just fine. The element of comedy is contributed by Pruthvi, Brahmandam, and Posani Krishna Murali.

'MLA' trailer

The first half of the movie is quite poor regarding the story, acting except for a few scenes. The second half is a walk down the predictable lane. “MLA” which offers a package of comedy, romance, action, and drama is a suitable watch for viewers looking for mindless fun or just to pass the time.

Public review

The film is running to average occupancy in many parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The reviews have been mixed to negative with Kalyan getting the most appreciation, Kajol Aggarwal has as usual done her part well.

A glimpse into a very predictable plot

The movie is about the same old subject of a boy falling in love with a girl and the family denying them the permission to get married.

The main characters Kalyan and Indu are played by Kalyan Ram and Kajal Aggarwal respectively.

The plot focuses on Kalyan’s attempt to win his lover’s hand in marriage with the permission of her father. The twist brought into the story is that her father places a condition that he should become the MLA of the village of Veerabhadrapuram, an area where a politician named Gadappa has won elections constantly for years.
