The elder son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, Tej Pratap, will tie the knot with aishwarya rai.T he marriage is likely to take place on May 12 while the engagement is going to take place sometime in April. Aishwarya is the daughter of a former minister, Chandrika Rai. She is from Chapra district and is also the granddaughter of ex-chief minister of state Daroga Prasad Rai.

Aishwarya is not a stranger to politics, and her father was the chief minister of the state for a brief period from February 16, 1970, to December 22, 1970.

Chandrika was with the Congress in 1985 and later joined Lalu’s party.

Chandrika was given the Transport ministry portfolio in the Maha Coalition government. Lalu was keen to link with the Rai’s, but the talks could not proceed then.

Chandrika is the eldest scion of the Rai family and has a younger sister and a brother. She did her schooling at Notre Dame Academy in Patna and later went to Delhi for higher education.

She is said to have done her MA from the Delhi University. Aishwarya is also known as Jhipsi, and there is a story behind this name. Jhipsi means light rains in Bihar and Aishwariya was given this name because it was drizzling on the day she was born.

Her younger sister Ayushi Rai is an engineer while brother Apurva is pursuing law.

Tej Pratap’s marriage also in the past had led to a war of words between rival political parties.

In a Public rally in Motihari, the eldest scion of the Yadav family had taken a dig at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and said that he did not yearn for a “Dhokebaaz Dulhaniya” (Cheating Bride) like the CM. Tej Pratap was responding to questions about the offer by Sushil Kumar Modi to find a bride for him.

After this news broke out, many people got confused with Aishwarya's name as it resembles the name of former Miss World and Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, the daughter-in-law of megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

Currently, Lalu Yadav is in jail serving his sentence related to the fodder scam.
