Meghna Gulzar’s “Raazi” is inspired by an adaptation of Harinder S Sikka's book ‘Calling Sehmat’ which itself is the story of a Kashmiri girl who is married to a Pakistani army officer to dish out intelligence back to the Indian Forces. It is a true but unbelievable story and gives the director ample opportunity to make a creative and outstanding job.

Ever since the trailer of the flick is out, trade analysts are already dubbing it a blockbuster. The star cast is excellent, and its punchline ‘A story which needs to be told ‘will inevitably create a buzz for the flick which will help it become a commercially hit proposition.

Trailer video

The trailer is dark, eerie, and unsettling and Meghna who has given us the taut “Talwar” has created a perfect recipe for ‘end -of -chair ‘entertainment and will surely endear to the audience.

The trailer starts with a view of INS Vikrant, India’s lone aircraft carrier in the seventies revealing that it will be a film which is related to the 1971 war.

This is followed by glimpses of Sehmat who seemed to be unprepared but determined to fulfill the ominous responsibility which the nation has put on her frail shoulders.

The trailer from its onset gives one a premonition of a film which is going to be a hit. It is going to be one of the best performances by Alia Bhat, and for Meghana it will be another feather in her cap after “Talwar.” “Raazi” will become a landmark film for a lot of people.
