‘Veere Di Wedding’ which means Friend’s wedding is a comedy film directed by Shashanka Ghosh and stars Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania.

The film hit the screens on June 1, 2018.

The project was finalized in 2016 but was delayed due to Kareena’s pregnancy. Kareena plays the central character in the flick which revolves around the lives of four childhood friends Kalindi (Kareena), Avni (Sonam Kapoor), Sakshi (Swara Bhaskar) and Meera (Shikha Talsania).

It is Kalindi’s wedding to Rishabh (Sumeet Vyas), and the four buddies come together, and slowly the lives of the three friends unravel during the wedding of their friend.

The shaadi is just like a typical Punjabi marriage, and many skeletons come tumbling as the lives of the four friends unfold.

Audience response:

It is a journey of discovery for the four friends as they deal with life, career, love, marriage, and heartbreak. However the four ladies are different and what connects them is their attitude, ‘Damn, Devil I care a hoot.’

All the four are unrestrained and speak their mind. They break many taboos and talk freely about sex toys, orgasms and even about sex before marriage and the lack of sex after marriage. In fact, the four friends represent four different stages in a woman’s life.

Trailer video

“Veere Di Wedding” beautifully portrays the trials and tribulations of four city dwelling girls who break the stereotype and false image of an ideal Indian daughter.

The four young lass talk openly about sex and use cuss and inappropriate words to vent their frustrations in their life. Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania, who play two of the four friends along with Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Kareena Kapoor Khan, feel that the film will reveal the other side of their character to their parents.

The film is expected to earn in the range of Rs 5-6 crores on its opening day and close at Rs 15-20 crores at the end of the weekend.
