In an unexpected turn of events, a student leader of a well known Indian outfit was arrested for leaking the CBSE question paper. The leaker has been identified as Satish Pandey, District Coordinator of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).

National Students' Union of India (NSUI), in a series of tweets, called out the hypocrisy of ABVP, which is reportedly supported by Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government. “NSUI has always stood for students no matter how old or from which field of study. Today, we stand by the CBSE students who are affected by the reckless attitude of the @BJP4India, the @HRDMinistry, and the CBSE Board,” the student body said on Twitter.

NSUI pointed out that the CBSE earlier used to have three sets of question papers to prevent any unwanted incident such as a paper leak. “[But] this was done away with by the BJP. The CBSE Chairperson must be held accountable for this incident. It's shocking to know that Satish Pandey is also a District Coordinator of ABVP,” NSUI tweeted.

“Whether it is CBSE paper leak by an ABVP member or the rape of an 8- year-old girl in Agra University by ABVP members, the BJP-led ABVP never takes action against their party workers. Such inaction on their part reflects their endorsement of such activities,” said NSUI, condemning the ruling party.
