Congress social media chief Divya Spandana has come under scrutiny for her past links to Vijay Mallya. Spandana, also known as Ramya, in the Indian entertainment community, used to be the brand ambassador for RCB years ago before the notorious mogul went bankrupt and fled the country.

Arnab Goswami’s Republic, which is perceived to be pro-bjp, brought to light her 2010 tweets in which she lauded Vijay Mallya and Kingfisher. The media also suggested that the then actress took favors from the businessman. It specifically cited a Hong Kong holiday trip sponsored by Mallya.

An agitated Spandana struck back at Arnab Goswami.

She admitted that she was one of the brand ambassadors for RCB along with Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone and Puneet Rajkumar from 2010-2012.

“So what?” she said.

“And Puhleeze! In all modesty, I can afford to sponsor my holidays. I can also sponsor your next holiday Arnab, when BJP stops doing it for you,” she added, lambasting the journalist.

The Congress party workers also attacked another journalist who had come to cover the much-awaited Jan Aakrosh rally. When the reporter started talking about the crowd size, the party workers attacked him and his cameraman. The party had claimed that over two lakh people turned up at the event.

The reporter, however, claimed that this wasn’t true.

The BJP misled people: Congress

Meanwhile, the Congress threw shade at the BJP for misleading the people with meaningless schemes. The party pointed out that the Narendra Modi-led BJP government is all about broken promises. Speaking about the demonetization and falling value of rupee, the Congress pointed out that Modi was not able to make black money white. They did not fulfill the promise of depositing Rs 15 lakh in people’s accounts. “Our money lost value due to demonetization. They were made to stand in line to get their own hard earned money,” he said.

“Our mission is to defeat anti-development and communal BJP and opportunist JDS, who are working in tandem. This election is also about protecting our Constitution from BJP whose declared intention it is to change the Constitution,” he said.

The party said that BJP’s tenure at the Centre has been a disturbing saga of violence, betrayal, and failures on every front. “The people are suffering and are furious.

The country stands united to voice its anger against this insensitive regime,” the party said.

The Congress also lambasted Kiran Bedi for her unsympathetic move in Puducherry. “Mindlessly linking toilet construction to the provision of food under PDS shows how little the BJP government understands hunger and poverty. Hope the Karnataka BJP does not include linking Anna Bhagya to toilet construction in its manifesto,” said Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah in a statement on Twitter.

Congress top brass like Narayana Swamy also said that Kiran Bedi’s move is against the spirit of food security Act as it violates the fundamental rights of the people. It clearly shows that Dr. Bedi lacks administrative capacity. This move is highly condemnable,” he said.

Rahul connecting directly with party workers

The party members went on to add that the Modi regime has been insensitive so far, and Congress party president Rahul Gandhi has so far proven to be a great leader. “His direct engagement with the party workers is reinvigorating them and boosting their morale. The Congress is implementing innovative methods to reach out to its volunteers and workers across the nation,” they said, adding that Rahul Gandhi’s recent address to the citizens was full of positive vibes that it strengthened the party workers’ resolve to free the nation from the clutches of an unjust government.
