Congress party chief Rahul Gandhi has challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a 15-minute debate on national issues. It remains to be seen if the latter accepts the challenge.

Rahul Gandhi wants to debate on issues like farmer distress, unemployment in the country, bank scam, women’s protection and empowerment, Kashmir, and fuel hike.

Narendra Modi so far has not responded to Rahul Gandhi’s invitation to debate.

“I really hope Modi takes up the challenge to a debate in parliament, although, I am quite certain Modi ji isn’t the 56 inch he claims to be,” said Divya Spandana, who handles the social media for Congress.

“BJP claims that PM Modi had an "unscripted' interaction in London. OK.

How about an unscripted debate in India's parliament? Citizens deserve to see what our leaders disagree about and who slept on the chowkidari job,” said Salman Aneez Soz, a Congress supporter, on social media.

Several Congress supporters pointed out that Modi used to challenge former prime minister Manmohan singh for debate.

“Now Rahul Gandhi has challenged PM Modi for an open debate. Shouldn't Narendra Modi accept this challenge,” they asked.
