Modi siding with criminals: Rahul Gandhi

On Wednesday night, Rahul Gandhi condemned the ruling BJP of misleading the people of India. He said that the Modi government is siding with criminals like Reddy Brothers who looted the hardworking people of Karnataka. He is bringing criminals from jail and putting them into the Vidhana Soudha, said Rahul Gandhi, adding that this move by the Prime Minister is an insult to every citizen.

According to the Congress, the ruling BJP has a three-pronged agenda for Karnataka. In a sarcastic tweet, the party said that the BJP is only interested in “Development of corrupt Yeddy-Reddys, fast-paced development of corrupt Yeddy-Reddys, and all-round development of corrupt Yeddy-Reddys.”

Priyank Kharge, minister for innovation and technology and tourism, said that Yeddyurappa is always known to compromise for power.

Earlier, he did it with Kumaraswamy, used Bellary Republic for over 25 by-elections in Operation Lotus, left the BJP to form KJP in anticipation of power. This was also an epic fail. He then re-joined BJP and is now back conniving with Reddy brothers to ensure cash flow for becoming Karnataka’s chief minister.

BJP has given primary importance to the politics of corruption, say Congress supporters.

According to Kapil Sibal, the Modi-led BJP is undermining institutions like the judiciary. and the government is also playing politics to bypass any inquiry that will embarrass them.

According to Congress supporters, the income of the BJP rose by 81.2% over 2016-17. They say that this increment was due to Nirav Modi scam, Rafale scam, and demonetization.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi in a video conference with BJP state workers encouraged the latter to continue what they are doing. He said that the BJP is fighting and will fight elections only on the issue of development. There is one aspect on which the Opposition can never defeat us.

That is our power as a party and the power of the party's youth force.

BSY vs. Siddaramaiah

Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah took a dig at BJP’s CM candidate BS Yeddyurappa, calling him a corrupt leader who had shamed the state. He said: “The Reddy Brothers ran the ‘Republic of Bellary’ in 2008-12, made Yeddyurappa a puppet CM, bought MLAs under Operation Kamala, and kept them in resorts and looted Rs 35,000 crore worth iron ore from the state. Karnataka suffered the humiliation of being called the “Most Corrupt State” because of Yeddyurappa and his cronies. Now, they are back again to loot Karnataka.”

Yeddyurappa, however, retorted, saying it would do much good if chief minister Siddaramaiah looks inside his own house and tell people where his masters have come from.

“Before you think of contesting against me, please try to win the battle in Chamundeshwari and Badami. People there are saying you have already run away from Chamundeshwari,” said Yeddyurappa, adding that, “I I assure the people that BJP in Karnataka is committed to clean and transparent governance that is free from misrule, divisive politics and lawlessness.”
