Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his Facebook Live interaction with the citizens on Wednesday morning, lauded the efforts of former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa for his dedication in lending a voice to the farmer community. He said that Yeddyurappa is the perfect man to do the job that the present Karnataka government had failed to take up.

Modi said that if Yeddyurappa becomes the chief minister, he would play an active role in empowering the farmer community in Karnataka. “The kind of experience and commitment that Yeddyurappa brings to the table is massive and farmers will see progress on a scale unparalleled by any previous government,” he said.

He added that the Congress, during its regime, has looted the farmers to an extent that they have lost confidence in any kind of government. “For seventy years, the Congress ruled without doling out any benefits to the farmers. I can confidently tell you that all this is going to change,” he said.

The team at BJP Karnataka spoke to thousands of farmers to understand the issues and challenges. “With the BJP in the state and BJP in the Centre, farmer benefits will be doubled,” the Prime Minister promised.
