Highest price tag for Unadkat

He had a price tag of just 1.5 crores but because of his last years' performance, three teams I,e CSK, KXIP, and Rajasthan bid heavily on him. In 2017, he was sold for a meager 30 lakh rupees. Jaydev also played brilliantly throughout the India vs. Sri Lanka series last month and even bagged the man of the series award.

Former Royal Challengers player, West Indian opener Chris Gayle had remained unsold two times, but when he was presented again, the Preity Zinta owned Kings XI Punjab bought him for his base price of Rs two crore.

Surprisingly star players like Lasith Malinga and Ishant Sharma went unsold even after two days of auction.

IPL to scrap auction for uncapped players?

In the latest development on Sunday, the Board of Cricket Control in India hinted that it might scrap the auctions and adopt a draft system to pick uncapped players.

IPL COO Hemanth Amin said, “Going forward, the thinking is that we will reduce, may not have mega auctions, but consider having a draft system for new players to come in, which acts as a feeder system to teams.”
