Ravichandran Ashwin, the top-ranked off-spinner in test cricket seems unsatisfied with his off-spin, as he has been spotted practicing bowling leg spin.

Though Ashwin emerged as a great spinner in Tests, specifically in India, other wrist-spinners also emerged strongly with limited overs recently, and Ravichandran is all set to compete with them.

R Ashwin has not participated in a One-Day International match since July 2017 because wrist spinners like Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal are preferred over him.

Aswhin to lead Kings XI Punjab

Hence, this 31-year-old spinner is now busy working hard to enhance his leg-spin. So, we can see his new skill in the upcoming IPL season in which he will lead the Kings XI Punjab team.

When asked about his new skill, Ashwin said, “I am trying to build my armory. I used to bowl good leg-breaks with my off-spin action when I was playing league cricket in Chennai.”

Ashwin has also bowled leg-spin in the IPL earlier against Steve Smith during net practice; however, he stated this transition is frustrating and highly painful.

However, on Feb 28, he was ruled out of the Deodhar Trophy due to an injury, he has been advised a week's rest. He was named the skipper of the India A side.

The upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League is a big challenge for Aswhin as he has been named the skipper of the Preity Zinta owned Kings XI Punjab team. During the IPL auction, Ashwin was bought for ₹ 7.60 crores.

Earlier he played for the Chennai Super Kings led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Kohli and Dhoni rested for upcoming series.

The Indian cricket team stars Virat Kohli, and MS Dhoni have been rested for the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka involving Bangladesh. Rohit Sharma will lead the Men in Blue in the absence of Kohli.

After this series, the Indian Cricket team will play Australia before getting ready for the grinding IPL schedule.
