The fourth match of this year’s IPL season will be played on Monday, April 9, 2018 between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad at 8.00 P.M IST. It will be a defining moment for Rajasthan Royals who will be returning after a two-year suspension.

Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals will play without their usual captains, David Warner and Steve Smith, as the International Cricket Council suspended both of them from playing cricket for one year for their role in the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa.

Ajinkya Rahane will lead the Royals while New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson will captain the Hyderabad Sunrisers.

Royals seem to be better equipped to take on the Sunrisers who were the champions in 2016 and were placed third in last year’s group stage. However, it must be remembered that David Warner contributed 1500 runs in both the tournaments and was also a very inspirational captain who transformed an ordinary team into an almost invincible squad of today.

The batting depends a lot on how Shikhar Dhawan opens the session.

If he begins in the usual explosive manner he is known, it will be easy going. There are some other explosive batsmen. More importantly, Sunrisers has one of the best bowling battery including Rashid Khan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

While Sunrisers have put faith on their earlier team, Royals have bet a lot on new players and have also spent fortunes in getting new players, notably, Ben Stokes (Rs 12.5 crores) and Jaydev Unadkat (Rs 11.5 crores), who ended up as IPL 2018’s most expensive players.

The team also has Sussex all-rounder Jofra Archer (Rs 7.2 crores) and Karnataka off-spinner K Gowtham (6.2 crores).
