Chennai Super Kings beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets in the IPL 2018 Final at the Wankhede Stadium to win their third IPL title. They had previously won the IPL in 2010 and 2011, both under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.

For Chennai, each and every player had stepped up and performed when the time came, and it was the 36-year-old Shane Watson who scored a magnificent century to complete a fairytale comeback story for the Chennai Super Kings.

While chasing a stiff total of 179 to win the Final, Chennai didn't get a good start as Faf DuPlesis got out with just 16 runs on the board, while the Aussie had played 10 dot balls before he got off the mark.

It was then that Shane and Suresh Raina (32 runs from 24 balls) combined in a century stand for the second wicket. Watson kept belting the bowlers all over the ground as he hit eight sixes and eleven fours.

Ambati Rayudu (16 runs from 19 balls) hit the winning runs, as Chennai chased the total with nine balls still left. Shane Watson remained unbeaten at 117 runs off 57 balls.

Twitter went crazy over Shane Watson's knock as there ware floods of tweets from all across the globe.

From celebrities like Ranveer Singh to Ex-cricketers like Virender Sehwag and Matthew Hayden to Cricket experts like Harsha Bhogle, everyone tweeted their congratulations to the Chennai Super Kings.

Some Twitter users highlighted how Watson hasn't yet lost his ability to score freely at this age while others consoled the Sunrisers Hyderabad for their beautiful journey this season.

Shane Watson received the Man of the Match award in the final while Sunil Narine of Kolkata Knight Riders got the Most Valuable Player award of VIVO IPL 2018.
