xiaomi is in the process of including an upgrade to its mi mix 2 smartphone which it had launched last year. According to a blog report, the device could be unveiled at the upcoming MWC in Barcelona. The blog further adds that the latest iteration of the Mi MIX could be featuring the Snapdragon 845.

This might be possible because Xiaomi and Qualcomm have entered into an alliance for the production of the chip last month. This processor was originally expected to feature in the Mi 7; however, the project has been delayed, and it is now expected to be ready by MWC 2018.

Mi MIX could feature Artificial Intelligence

The next upgrade will feature the TGE new Sony IMX363 camera sensor perfect with dual-pixel autofocus technology to produce enhanced night vision effects.

In addition, the Snapdragon 845 is reported to feature an on-device artificial intelligence (AI). This suggests that the fresh Mi Mix model could be having features like facial recognition.

Processor to feature in Mi first

It would be a great achievement if the company manages to feature the Snapdragon 845 in its smartphone ahead of its competitors Samsung and Sony who are also rumored to highlight the processor on its future devices.

Regarding the price, the smartphone could be carrying a price tag of around Rs 39,000. It is expected to be unveiled in China in March 2018.

The company initially sold all its handsets through Flipkart in India, but now it also sells through its own portal Mi.com and also has appointed a host of distributors and service centers across the country for support.

The company has sold over 9.3 million units in India in the year 2017 and has also surpassed Samsung as the highest selling brand in the country.

The company's CEO Lei Jun is China's 24th wealthiest man with an estimated net worth of $6.9 billion.
